Cloquet Country Club

The Cloquet Country Club was established in 1923. It existed as a nine hole course until 2002 when a second nine, designed by Joel Goldstrand was added.

Today the 6,649 yard, par 71 course offers a challenging course rating of 72.9 and slope of 130 from the tips.  The course offers a unique lay out with 6 demanding par three's to go along with 5 lengthy par five's all over 500 yards.

The front nine offers a traditional Donald Ross design that begins with a 330 yard par 4 great opening hole that is heavily bunkered.  Hole #2 is a long, straight but demanding par 4 of 440 yards and is the number one handicap hole.  Back to back par threes follow and conclude with a short par 3 over the signature gully to make up the "tops". Uniquely, two par 5's succeed with one of the best tee shots in all of Minnesota on Hole #5 according to Minnesota Golf magazine. A long, rewarding hole guarded by woods on both sides with significant elevation changes.  The final hole on the front ends with a long, par 5 dog leg right with water hugging the right side.

The back nine offers a nice change of pace through popple trees and wetlands. The back offers tight tee shots and numerous dog legs that can be tamed if you can keep the ball in play. Holes 15 through 17 offer a long, difficult stretch of pars three, four and five. All three nearly the longest in there respective categories, keeping the ball in play is a must if you want to end your round strong.

With four distance choices, the CCC offers a challenging yet enjoyable experience that all our members long for in winter and relish playing in summer. Among the tall pines exists a challenging layout that is our Cloquet Country Club.
